Hello from Abracadabra Tours!
This time we're reporting on a special New Year event that drew a huge response. For our second year collaborating with Tobu Department Store Ikebukuro on their New Year lucky bag (fukubukuro) campaign, we planned and sold something truly special: a dream “Voice Acting Experience”.
Step into the World of the Hit Web Anime Engimon!
For this experience, we worked with Engimon, the popular title currently streaming as a web anime on the Studio Nanahoshi channel. Participants took on the challenge of dubbing, recording their own voices in time with the characters' movements on screen.
Faced with specialized equipment and microphones they were seeing for the first time, everyone was a little nervous at the start. But once recording began, they threw themselves into their characters and faced the microphone with real focus.
A One-of-a-Kind Treasure, Recorded in Your Own Voice
Getting the timing right and putting emotion into every line, participants got a firsthand feel for how deep — and how much fun — a voice actor's work really is.
And what they ended up with was an animation that exists nowhere else in the world, recorded in their own voices. The bright smiles and cheers at the moment they saw the finished video really stayed with us.
